Robbery in Blenheim

At 10:16 a.m. Wednesday, police responded to a retail store on Communication Road in Blenheim regarding a theft and assault.

Through investigation officers learned a woman entered the store and concealed items on her person. She attempted to leave without paying for the merchandise and was confronted by an employee, police say.
The woman pushed pass the employee, causing them to fall, police say. The incident resulted in minor physical injury.

The woman left prior to police arrival but was located a short distance away. Officers confirmed she was also wanted on a warrant related to a June 25 theft investigation in Chatham.

A 28-year-old Harwich Township woman is charged with robbery, two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking, three counts of theft, and four counts of possession of stolen property.
