A Chatham woman spent time in the drunk tank and will have to answer to mischief charges after police say she pounded her head on a window, causing it to break.
Officers got the call about 2:10 p.m. Tuesday for a reported disturbance on Fourth Street.
Officers learned a woman and a man were arguing, and at some point, the woman knocked her head against a glass window hard enough for it to break.
The two left the area prior to police arrival but were located a short distance away. The woman was under the influence of an intoxicating substance, police say.
A 31-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where she was held until she was sober. She is charged with mischief.
