Careless smoking is being blamed as the cause for an early morning house fire near Tilbury.
Crews from Tilbury and Wheatley were called to 20874 Cemetery Rd. about 2:30 a.m. Monday morning, and arrived to discover the fire had originated in a bedroom.
Firefighters quickly doused the blaze.
No one was injured in the fire, officials said.
Estimated damage is $400,000.
