An early morning fire on Tecumseh Line claimed the life of a family pet and devastated the home.
Chatham-Kent fire officials were called shortly before 6 a.m. to 4818 Tecumseh Line east of Jeannettes Creek.
Crews arrived to a fully involved structure family at the single-family home.
All occupants, save the pet, had escaped.
Crews could only take a defensive stance to prevent the fire from spreading.
Firefighters remain on scene as of late Monday morning.
Damage is estimated at $350,000. No word on cause at this time.
