Domestic violence charges

A Chatham man faces charges after police say he assaulted a woman Sunday afternoon.

Chatham-Kent police got the call about 12:30 p.m. Officers learned an argument between a man and a woman turned physical when the man assaulted the woman as she was attempting to leave the residence, police say.

A 24-year-old Chatham man is charged with assault.

Vehicles damaged, man arrested

A local man faces mischief charges after vehicles were damaged Sunday on Peachtree Lane in Chatham.

Police were called about 12:30 p.m.

Through investigation, officers learned the man attended the address and damaged three vehicles. The man was also prohibited from attending the addressed by conditions in a release order, police say.

The man was located on Argyle Street and arrested.

A 22-year-old Chatham Kent man is charged with failing to comply with an undertaking and three counts of mischief.

Mischief arrest

A report of a man trying to get into vehicles Sunday morning led to an arrest.

At 6:10 a.m., police responded to Stanley Avenue in Chatham to investigate suspicious activity. On top of the attempt to break into cars, police say it was reported a man was damaging property and intimidating people.

Police showed up, located the fellow, and arrested him.

A 34-year-old Chatham-Kent man is charged with mischief.

Impaired slumping

Police got the call Sunday morning about 9:40 a.m. to check on the wellbeing of a man spotted slumped over the steering wheel in Kingston Park in Chatham.

The attending officer believed the man to be under the influence of an intoxicating substance.

A 56-year-old Chatham-Kent man is charged with impaired driving.

She couldn’t stay away…arrested!

A woman twice visited an address in Kent Bridge on the weekend, despite court-imposed conditions for her to not be there, police say.

On Sunday afternoon, police responded to Longwoods Roads in Kent Bridge for an assault investigation.

Officers learned a woman attended the address and argued with a man. The argument escalated when the woman assaulted the man, police say.

Further investigation revealed that in May and back in October, the woman had been released from custody with conditions prohibiting her from going to any place a specified person was known to live, work or go to school. The address was the residence of the person named in the conditions, police say, and the woman attended the address Saturday and Sunday.

A 36-year-old Chatham woman is charged with assault and two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking.
