Two youths charged with assault

A pair of Chatham teens face aggravated assault charges in the wake of a Saturday altercation on King Street in Chatham.

The investigation revealed a Chatham youth had been assaulted by other youths physically and with a pellet gun.

Early Monday morning, two youths were arrested.

The two boys, aged 14 and 16, are charged with aggravated assault.

She hit him; he hit her phone

A Sunday evening argument got violent, leading to two arrests.

Police were called to Sheldon Avenue Sunday night for a disturbance.

The officers learned a man and a woman argued and the woman assaulted the man, and the man damaged the woman’s phone, police say.

A Chatham woman, 35, is charged with assault, while the Chatham man, 32, faces mischief charges.

Assault with a bat
A roommate squabble turned violent recently, after one person was allegedly punched and smacked with a baseball bat.

The incident, according to Chatham-Kent police, took place back on May 17. But police were only notified of it Sunday morning.

A woman engaged in verbal arguments with her roommate, police say. The arguments escalated when the woman struck the roommate with a closed fist and a baseball bat.
A 33-year-old Chatham woman has a future court date to answer to charges of assault, assault with a weapon and uttering threats.

Man sporting BB gun arrested

Sunday afternoon in Blenheim delivered to police a man wanted on bail violations.

Police responded to Hall Street North in Blenheim to investigation suspicious activity.

Upon arrival, officers located the man and confirmed he was wanted on two outstanding warrants.

To top it off, as police searched the suspect, they found a replica pistol BB gun in the man’s waistband. Officers confirmed he was bound by a weapons prohibition order.

A 47-year-old Sarnia man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing. He is charged with assault with a weapon, failing to comply with a release order, two counts of failing to attend court and two counts of uttering threats.
