Loud and … charged

A local man faces breach of the peace charges following a raucous incident in Wheatley Monday night.

Shortly before 11 p.m., police were called to the area of Erie Street South in regard to a disturbance involving a man and woman.

As a result of a police investigation, a 32-year-old Chatham-Kent man was charged with breaching the peace.

Missed court date

Police located a man on Edgar Street Monday early evening. They realized the man had an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court.

A 54-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was held for bail.

Impaired in Wheatley

A Chatham-Kent woman faces impaired driving charges following a stop Monday night.

Shortly after 11:30 p.m. Monday night, a police officer spotted a vehicle swerving and doing well below the posted speed limit.

The officer opted to pull over the vehicle. After speaking with the driver, the officer believed she had been drinking.

As a result, the officer charged a 61-year-old Chatham-Kent woman with impaired operation of a motor vehicle.
