A Wheatley man is dead following a morning crash south of Merlin.
Chatham-Kent police say the crash occurred about 6 a.m. Thursday morning at the intersection of Merlin Road and Kidd Line.
An eastbound vehicle travelling on Kidd Line drove through the intersection and went off the road, police say. It wound up in the east side of the ditch off Merlin Road.
Responding emergency personnel attempted life-saving measures but were unsuccessful. A 51-year-old Wheatley man was pronounced dead at the scene, and a post-mortem examination has been scheduled.
