A Wallaceburg woman faces serious charges in connecting with a knifing in the North Kent community on Tuesday.
Shortly after 3 p.m., Chatham-Kent police responded to Reaume Avenue in Wallaceburg for a weapons investigation.
Officers found a woman with serious puncture injuries.
They learned an altercation occurred between two women, resulting in one woman assaulting the other with a knife, police say.
The injured woman was transported to the hospital for medical attention.
A 26-year-old Wallaceburg woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where she was held pending a bail hearing. She is charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
