Bogus info leads to charges
Nearly a year after the fact, a Sarnia woman turned herself into Chatham-Kent police Monday morning to face obstruction charges.
Police say the woman was wanted on an outstanding warrant related to a June 17, 2023, investigation where the woman provided the investigating officer with misleading information.
A 21-year-old Sarnia woman was arrested and released with conditions and a future court date. She is currently charged with obstruct a peace officer.
Theft charges
Police located a woman on Marlborough Street in Blenheim shortly before 6 p.m. The officer confirmed the woman was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in relation to a theft investigation.
A 28-year-old Harwich Township woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where she was released with conditions and a future court date. She is currently facing the following charges: theft and possession of stolen property.
Skipped court dates
On police service’s arrest was a second’s bonus on Monday.
At 3:03 p.m., Chatham-Kent police attended the Walpole Island Police Service to arrest a man in custody who was wanted on a warrant held by CKPS.
The man was wanted for failing to attend court in relation to a 2021 mischief investigation in Chatham.
A 28-year-old Chatham-Kent man was transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing. He is currently facing the following charges: mischief, failing to comply with an appearance notice and three counts of failing to attend court.
Later that day, at 6:26 p.m., police located a man on Richmond Street in Chatham. The officer confirmed the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in relation to a probation violation investigation.
A 30-year-old Chatham man was transported to police headquarters, where he was released with conditions and a future court date. He is currently facing the following charges: failing to comply with the Sex Offender Registry, two counts of failing to comply with conditions under section 490 of the Sex Offender Registry and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
