Voters in Lambton-Kent-Middlesex will get an in-person chance to hear the views of aspiring politicians at an all-candidates meeting this Friday.
The event, to be held at the Olde Czech Hall in Dresden, is being hosted by a group dubbed Concerned Citizens of North Kent.
To date, the all-candidates meeting is the only one that’s being held in Chatham-Kent
A total of eight people are vying to fill the seat left vacant by long-time Member of Provincial Parliament Monte McNaughton, who stepped away from politics last September.
The by-election takes place May 2.
Candidates on the ticket include Dr. Keith Benn for the New Blue Party; Cathy Burghardt-Jesson for the Liberal Party; Stephen R. Campbell for the None of the Above Party; Steve Pinsonneault for the Progressive Conservative Party; Kathryn Shailer for the New Democratic Party; Andraena Tilgner for the Green Party; Hilda Walton for the Family Rights Party and Cynthia Workman for the Ontario Party.

Advance polling is available at the County Fair Mall in Wallaceburg located at 11-60 McNaughton Ave., as well as Amy’s Restaurant in Strathroy located at 28537 Centre Rd.
Five additional polling stations will open for a three-day period April 24 to 26 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. In Chatham-Kent, voters can cast their ballots at Hidden Hills Golf and Country Club at 25393 St. Clair Rd. at Oungah.
