On Monday, police arrested a 35-year-old Chatham man. He is charged with assault with a weapon, and two counts of assault.

Grand arrest auto

An early morning vehicle theft did not end well for a Chatham woman.

At 1:26 a.m. Tuesday, police responded to a Longwoods Road address near Chatham for a stolen vehicle investigation.

Officers located the vehicle and pulled it over. The investigation revealed the woman was prohibited from operating a motor vehicle and had taken the vehicle without consent, police say.

A 44-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with theft of a motor vehicle, possession of stolen property and operating a motor vehicle while prohibited.

Teen charged with assault

A Chatham teenager answered to assault charges by turning herself in on Monday.

Police investigated a fight between students back on March 19 at Chatham-Kent Secondary School.

Officers learned one teenaged girl had assaulted another, resulting in the victim suffering injuries, police say.

On Monday, shortly before noon, police say a 16-year-old Chatham youth walked into police headquarters and turned herself in. She is charged with assault.

Man violates court order

A Chatham man faces more charges after police say he violated a court order that prohibited him from being near or communicating with anyone under the age of 16 unless being supervised by a court-approved person.

Police began investigating March 22 and confirmed the man breached his court order.

Officers arrested a 42-year-old Chatham man on Monday.
