Gun-pointing youths arrested

Two teenagers were arrested Saturday night after someone reportedly pointed a gun at a residence in Wallaceburg.

Chatham-Kent police got the call shortly before 9:30 p.m. of a claim that two people were in a vehicle aiming a firearm at a residence.

Police attended and located the vehicle.

Two male teens were arrested and an airsoft handgun was seized.

The two, aged 16 and 17, face charges of pointing a firearm and weapons dangerous.

Assault charges

A Chatham man faces assault charges after a violent confrontation Friday.

Police say what began as an argument between the man and a woman escalated when the man assaulted the woman.

An officer began investigating on Saturday, contacting the man, who agreed to turn himself in.

On Sunday afternoon, he showed up to police headquarters and was arrested.

A 51-year-old Chatham man is charged with assault.

Vehicle kicked, woman charged

Saturday night is not all right for kicking cars.

A Chatham woman learned the lesson the hard way. Police say on Saturday, two women were arguing late in the evening on Sheldon Avenue, but that escalated when one threatened the other and then put the boots to the victim’s vehicle.

Police located the suspect Sunday afternoon on St. Anthony Street in Chatham and arrested her.

An 18-year-old Chatham woman is charged with uttering threats and mischief. 

2 charged for bail violations

A Wallaceburg man and woman face charges following a weekend argument.

The two were chirping at one another on Westcourt Boulevard in Wallaceburg Sunday evening. Police were called and the investigating officer discovered the man was bound by a release order and a probation order to not associate with the woman. Yet there they were.

Police say the woman invited the man to her residence.

A 40-year-old of Wallaceburg man was charged with two counts of failing to comply with a probation order and two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.

A 27-year-old Wallaceburg woman was charged with facilitating a breach of an undertaking.
