Chatham-Kent police are piecing together what led to a collision Thursday afternoon that sent three people to hospital, two of which suffered serious injuries.
The crash took place about 3 p.m. at the intersection of Ninth Line and Wellwood Road in Raleigh Township.
A pickup truck and an SUV collided in the intersection. The pickup continued into a ditch and rolled. Its driver was ejected.
The SUV, meantime, also rolled, but wound up on its wheels.
Both vehicles wound up in a field in the northeast corner of the intersection.
The drivers sustained serious injuries and had to be taken to hospital in London. One passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service Traffic Management Unit is still investigating the collision. Anyone with information is asked to contact Const. Joel Rehill at joelr@chatham-kent.ca or 519-355-1092.
