Two arrested after shots fired on Walpole Island

Two people are in custody after someone was shot at on Monday on Walpole Island.

According to the opp, police were called shortly before 4 p.m. to Dump Road.

No one was hurt.

Spent shell casings were found on the ground in the area.

Police obtained a description of the suspects, and officers found and arrested two people without incident.

A 40-year old Walpole Island man and a 27-year-old Chatham man are charged with possession of a firearm for a dangerous purpose, pointing a firearm, and discharging a firearm with intent.

The Walpole Island man is also facing two counts of possession of a schedule 1 substance after a search revealed a quantity of suspected cocaine and methamphetamine.

The accused have been remanded into custody following a bail hearing.
