Chatham-Kent police once again got to take out their armoured car for a ride recently.

It began with a disturbance call at a residence on Dover Centre Line late Friday night.

Officers arrived in the area and attempted to make contact with a man at this location, police say.

Citing a concern for public safety, police began to attempt to negotiate with the man. Police opted to deploy specialized units and resources, including the Critical Incident Response Team, Canine Unit, Criminal Investigation Branch, drones and their armoured rescue vehicle.

Approximately four hours later, a 32-year-old man was taken into custody.

Police say the incident is still under investigation.
