He turned himself in
A Chatham man faces charges after he turned himself into police on Thursday.
The charges stem from a mid-February altercation on Dover Street in Chatham
The investigation revealed a man and woman were walking along Dover Street when they began arguing. The argument escalated when the man assaulted the woman by pushing the woman to the ground and fled the area with her personal property, police say.
The victim did not sustain any physical injury as a result of the assault.
When the man was not located a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On Thursday, over the lunch hour, a 40-year-old Chatham man walked into Chatham-Kent police headquarters and turned himself in to face assault and robbery charges.
DNA warrant arrest
Walking through traffic in Wallaceburg on Thursday earned a local woman a swab.
Shortly before 5:30 p.m., police responded to Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg to conduct a well-being check on a woman reported to be walking into traffic.
Officers arrived on the scene and located the woman. Further investigation revealed the woman was wanted on an outstanding DNA warrant.
A 30-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters for processing. She was released unconditionally.
