Skipped court date
A Wednesday evening disturbance on Grand River Line has led to the arrest of a local man.
Upon arrival, officers located the man and confirmed he was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court.
A 60-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing. He is facing the following charges: assault causing bodily harm, threats, theft, possession of stolen property, failing to attend court and two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking.

It seems a Wallaceburg man is developing a history, one the legal system is apparently letting him perpetuate.
In October 2023, the man was arrested and charged with failing to comply with a probation order. He was released with conditions and a future court date.
When the man failed to make an appearance in court a bench warrant was issued for his arrest.
On Wednesday afternoon, police located and arrested the 58-year-old Wallaceburg man on Dundas Street in Wallaceburg. With a history of not attending court and violating release conditions, he was released with a future court date.
Bail violation
Sleeping on the steps of a Victoria Avenue business in Chatham earned a visit from police, and ultimately a trip to jail.
Police checked on the man’s well being shortly before 4 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, as the man enjoyed the warm weather by taking a nap in front of the business.
Officers confirmed the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant and arrested him.
A 54-year-old Chatham Kent man was released with a future court date. He faces two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
Teenaged intoxication
How do you celebrate March Break? Well, at least one Chatham teenager apparently opted to get blasted on a sunny afternoon.
At 4:42 p.m. on Wednesday, police responded to Thames Street in Chatham to conduct a well-being check on a young woman.
Officers located the woman intoxicated and unable to care for herself.
A 17-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where she was released to a family member.
Free trip to Huron County
A police officer spotted a man out for a stroll on Colborne Street in Chatham Wednesday evening who was wanted on an outstanding warrant.
Officers attended in the area and located the man on Murray Street. The investigation revealed the man was wanted on a warrant held by the Huron OPP.
A 32-year-old Ontario man was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was held until he was turned over to the OPP.
