Tires flattened, woman arrested

Chatham-Kent police officers had to deploy a spike belt Sunday evening to stop a stolen vehicle in Wallaceburg.

Police received information about 9:15 p.m. that someone stole a vehicle from outside a convenience store on Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg.

Officers arrived in the area and quickly located the vehicle. One officer tried to pull over the vehcle, but the driver pulled away.

Police wound up using a spike belt to stop the vehicle.

A 25-year-old Wallaceburg woman was arrested and charged with motor vehicle theft, possession of stolen property, and flight from a police officer. She was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
