A Wallaceburg man has to answer to a number of charges after police spotted him leaving a convenience store Monday evening.
The man, whom police say the officer recognized from previous encounters, was wanted on an outstanding warrant.
As he was searched, the officer found he had on a Kevlar bulletproof vest, and was in possession of an airsoft handgun resembling a Glock 17.
A 45-year-old Wallaceburg man was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing. He currently faces the following charges: failing to comply with an undertaking, failing to attend court, possession of a prohibited/restricted firearm with ammunition, careless storage of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm, three counts of breach of recognizance, and three counts of possession of a controlled substance.
