Criminal harassment

A London man faces charges after someone tried to barge into a home on Selton Line Saturday afternoon, according to Chatham-Kent police.

Police got the call just before 4 p.m. Officers received information a man went to the home and was attempting to gain entry.

The man was also wanted in two other incidents for the same behaviour, police say.

A 36-year-old London man was arrested and charged with criminal harassment and three counts of failing to comply with a release order. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.

Chain cut, man arrested

A Chatham man has to answer to mischief charges after Chatham-Kent police say someone cut the chain that locked the gate on the property of the Monsignor Uyen Catholic School Feb. 28.

Officers investigated and managed to identify the suspect, police say.

On Sunday morning, police located a 30-year-old Chatham man on Partridge Crescent in Chatham and arrested him. He is charged with mischief. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.

Skipped court date

It was nearly two years ago, but a woman showed up at police headquarters Sunday after skipping a court date in March of 2022.

Police say she walked into headquarters Sunday late Sunday morning and turned herself in.

She is currently facing the following charges:  possession of a controlled substance, theft, and possession of stolen property. She was released with a new court date.

Vehicle window smashed, man arrested

A Chatham man has to answer to charges after someone chucked a rock through the back window of a vehicle Sunday afternoon.

Police got the call about 12:45 p.m. Sunday to a parking lot on King Street West in Chatham.

Surveillance video footage revealed a man threw a rock through the vehicle’s window as he walked past. Officers identified the man and formed grounds to arrest him.

Approximately two hours later, officers located and arrested him at Murray Street and William Street in Chatham.

A 31-year-old Chatham man was charged with mischief. He was transported to headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
