Crashes lead to impaired charges

Two Chatham-Kent men face charges from two separate accidents on Sunday.

The first took place on Highway 401 about 2:15 a.m. on Feb. 18. A passenger vehicle wound up in the median.

OPP say the officer thought the driver might have been impaired, so he was taken into custody and given further testing.

A 52-year-old Tilbury man faces impaired charges.

No serious injuries were reported.

That night, about 9:30 p.m., OPP in Kingsville report a vehicle wound up in the ditch on County Road 29.

The investigating officer in this incident also suspected the driver had been drinking.

A 24-year-old Wallaceburg man faces numerous charges, including impaired driving, failure to comply with demand, having open and readily available liquor in the vehicle, driving without a valid permit and driving without insurance.
