Three people face charges after would-be theft was thwarted early Monday morning.
Chatham-Kent police officers were called to Oak Road in Tilbury shortly after midnight over a report of suspicious activity. Witnesses reported seeing a suspicious vehicle and flashlights.
When police arrived, they spotted a U-Haul loaded with property, but no suspects.
Officers employed a drone and searched the area, finding three people hiding near a retaining pond, police say.
Three people, a Blenheim woman, 26, and two Tilbury men, 58 and 33, face charges of theft, possession of stolen property and trespassing.
