Domestic assault x2

A Chatham man is facing charges after Chatham-Kent police say he spat on a woman and kicked her on Sunday.

Police got the call shortly before 11 a.m. to attend a Forrest Street location in Tilbury for a disturbance.

Officers learned a man and the victim were engaged in a verbal altercation that escalated when he spat on and kicked her, police say

A 44-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with two counts of assault.

Laundromat drama

A local man faces charges after someone harassed customers at a laundromat in Chatham on Sunday afternoon, according to police.

Officers got the call shortly after 1 p.m. to head a laundromat on King Street East in Chatham for a man harassing customers. Officers attended and issued a Provincial Offences Notice to the man under the Trespass to Property Act.

However, it appears the man wasn’t done. At about 4:20 p.m., the man returned and continued to harass customers, police say, interfering with the regular operation of the business. Police attended and arrested the man.

A 28-year-old Chatham-Kent man was charged with mischief.

Bail violations

Sunday morning did not begin well for a Chatham couple. First off, they had the police called on them about 5:40 a.m. on Charteris Street in Chatham.

It was a disturbance call.

When police arrived, they located a man and woman. Officers confirmed the man was bound by an undertaking with a condition prohibiting him from communicating with the woman.

Officers also confirmed the woman did not live at the address and attended of her own accord, knowing the man was on condition not to communicate with her.

As a result, a 40-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with failing to comply with an undertaking. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.

A 45-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with facilitating a breach of an undertaking.

Warrant arrest

An extended say in a coffee shop washroom led to a woman getting charged Sunday evening.

At 8:23 p.m., police responded to Tim Hortons on Lacroix Street to check the well-being of a woman who had been in the washroom for an extended time.

Officers attended and located the woman. They confirmed she was wanted on outstanding warrants resulting from several investigations.

A 39-year-old Chatham woman faces the following charges: failing to attend court, theft, possession of stolen property and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order. She was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.

Warrant arrest

An early morning drive resulted in the arrest of a Wallaceburg woman Monday morning.

Shortly after 3 a.m., an officer on general patrol conducted a traffic stop on Part Street in Wallaceburg.

Through investigation, the officer learned the female passenger was wanted on an outstanding warrant.

A 29-year-old Wallaceburg woman was arrested and charged with breach of a probation order.
