An excavating company on Jan. 11 made a grisly discovery on Grand River Line: human remains.
The discovery of the bones occurred in the morning on a property between Winterline Road and Crow Road. Police were called and officers secured the scene.
The forensic unit of the Chatham-Kent police was called in to photograph everything and collect the bones, police say.
All evidence has been forwarded to the Office of the Chief Coroner for further forensic examination. No results were known as of press time.
Preliminary examination suggests the bones are from many years ago, indicating they are of historical nature.
Police say there’s no concern for public safety in connection with this discovery.
