An abandoned house north of Wheatley caught fire Thursday night.
Fire crews were called shortly after 11 p.m. to 21104 Erie St. S. between Wheatley and Tilbury. They arrived to see the home in flames.
Firefighters took a defensive attack to put out the fire in the building, and an excavator was brought in to help.
No one was injured, and officials say the cause is undetermined.
The loss is estimated at $50,000.
