LETTER: A message to the Ford government

Editor: The current provincial government has offered Chatham-Kent a bonus of $330,000 for already exceeding the province’s building targets by 300 per cent. This before Premier Ford’s latest attempt to undermine Ontario’s municipal governments.

C-K is building homes three times as fast as the province is aiming for.

C-K’s total revenues of 2022 were $452,323,000. The bonus would add 0.0007 per cent to C-K revenues, or about $3 per resident. My offer to the provincial government: Keep my $3 and keep your nose out of C-K’s elected officials’ business.

They seem to be doing a better job governing C-K than you are running the province.
