Threats lead to charges

An argument that ended in threats has landed a local man with criminal charges.

Chatham-Kent police got the call about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday night to attend a Glenwood Drive residence in Chatham for a disturbance.

Through investigation, officers learned an argument escalated when the man threatened to harm the woman, police say.

A 61-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and charged with uttering threats.

Probation breach

Popping by the hospital for no medical reason might seem odd behaviour for the average person. But doing so when you are ordered by the courts to stay away is a sure-fire method for landing before the courts once again.

That was the case Tuesday morning for a local man. Police say they were called to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance’s Chatham site shortly before 9 a.m.

A man was there despite being bound by a probation order prohibiting him from attending the property unless for medical care, police say. Officers confirmed he was not seeking medical care.

A 32-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and charged with two counts of failing to comply with a probation order. He was released with a future court date.
