Word on the street is the Chatham Goodfellows are a hot topic.
The charity organization’s annual Street Sales took place Friday and Saturday, and delivered nearly $31,000 to help ensure No Child Without a Christmas.
The $30,747 raised is an increase of almost $4,600 from last year, according to the Goodfellows board.
“Thank you. We can’t do this without you all,” the Goodfellows stated in a media release. “Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”
Officials said they don’t have final numbers on totals raised for their food and toy effort this year, as funds are still being collected. Last year, the organization spent more than $200,000 to purchase food and toys to send to families in need.
It’s a busy time of the year for the Goodfellows, as they’re out Monday night delivering toys, and will begin the food packing and delivery on Tuesday.
