You can’t do that in public

Chatham-Kent police put a local man behind bars after he was spotted doing some weird stuff on Tecumseh Road in Chatham early Monday morning.

Police got the call shortly after 6:15 a.m., as someone reported a man was pleasuring himself and smoking what appeared to be meth.

Officers arrived on the scene and arrested the man.

A 49-year-old Chatham-Kent man is charged with committing an indecent act. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.

Youth charged with assault

It took a while for the information to come out, and a bit longer for police to finish their investigation, but a Chatham teen faces assault charges stemming from a Nov. 8 altercation.

The investigation began Nov. 13, when police responded to an address on Queens Line to hear the details.

The officer discovered that on Nov. 8, two male youths argued in a parking lot at their school in Chatham. The victim disengaged and walked away, but the other youth followed and physically assaulted the victim, police say.

On Monday, at 4:45 p.m., police charged a 17-year-old youth with assault.

Family feud

A resident of the former Howard Township faces charges after he allegedly got into a spat with his father.

Police say they attended a home on Beech Street in Bothwell at 10:25 a.m. Monday after a report of a disturbance between the man and his father. In fact, there were multiple calls to police in regard to the matter.

A 33-year-old Howard Township man faces a charge of breaching the peace.
