Firearm spotted, man arrested

A Chatham man faces charges after a citizen spotted a person with firearm Tuesday evening.

Police responded to Wellington Street about 7 p.m. and spotted the suspect.

A 41-year-old Chatham man was arrested for one count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Police say there was no immediate threat to public safety and the situation was resolved without incident.

Compliance concern

After twice entering into conditions to not communicate with a specific person, police say a Wallaceburg man broke those conditions Tuesday.

On June 20 and Oct. 16, police say the accused entered a Form 10 Release Order, both with conditions not to communicate with or be anywhere with or around a specified person.

However, on Tuesday, police located the accused with the specified person he was not to be with, contrary to his release conditions issued by Chatham-Kent Police Service and Windsor Police Service.

A 27-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested for two counts of fail to comply with release order and transported to police headquarters where he was lodged pending a bail hearing.

Skipped court date

Responding to a disturbance call, police ultimately discovered someone who had missed a court date.

The disturbance call came about 11 p.m. near the Fifth Street Bridge.

Police located the parties involved, and through investigation they learned one man was currently wanted for failing to attend court.

A 19-year-old Chatham man was arrested and later released with a future court date
