A section of the eastbound Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent remains closed this afternoon following a pair of morning crashes mere kilometres apart.
Local OPP report the first crash took place about 10:45 a.m. and involved a transport rollover into the centre median.
This accident took place near the 87-kilometre marker.
Police say the driver of the semi, while trying to avoid a collision with another vehicle, lost control and rolled over as it entered the median.
The driver and a passenger in the truck suffered minor injuries.
About 30 minutes later, two transports collided about three kilometres to the west, also in the eastbound lanes.
Both involved vehicles were occupied by a lone driver. Minor injuries were reported.
Police say both collision investigations are ongoing.
A section of the eastbound 401 between Bloomfield Road and Communication Road is closed temporarily to allow for investigation, removal of the involved vehicles and debris.
The highway closure is expected to be for the next several hours.
Investigators would like to speak anyone who may have observed these vehicles prior to the collision, who observed the collision or who may have dashcam footage of the collision.
