One youth roughed up; two others charged

Two Chatham teens face assault charges following an altercation on Park Avenue West in Chatham Thursday night.

Police got the call about 10:45 p.m.

Through investigation, police learned two male youths went to the home of a third male youth and assaulted him.

The two male youths were located and arrested.

The Chatham youths, aged 15 and 16, were transported to police headquarters and charged with assault.

Drug charges

A Chatham-Kent woman faces drug charges following an incident at a Grand Avenue East business Thursday night.

Chatham-Kent police say they were called to the business just after 11:30 p.m., and were advised a woman was on the premises and wasn’t welcome.

Police arrived and located the woman. Officers confirmed she was on conditions not to be at that address.

Upon a search incident to arrest, the woman was found possessing a clear plastic bag containing suspected methamphetamine.

A 30-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was charged with failing to comply with an undertaking and possessing a controlled substance. She was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.

Failing to comply

Trying to get personal property back and a refund on rent has earned a local man charges.

Chatham-Kent police say they responded to a call at a home on North Street in Dresden for an unwanted person on the premises Thursday morning.

Police arrived on the scene and learned a man was trying to retrieve property and a rent refund.

The man left before the police arrived.

Police confirmed the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to comply with release orders. He was located a short distance away and arrested.

A 35-year-old Chatham-Kent man was charged with failing to comply with an undertaking and two counts of failing to comply with a release order. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.

Bail violations

A local man faces charges after police say he didn’t follow his release order rules recently.

Following a theft investigation in Chatham on Wednesday, an officer attempted to issue a trespass notice to the man at his home. However, it was discovered that the man no longer resided at the address listed.

Upon further investigation, it was confirmed that the man was under a release order that mandated him to inform the Chatham-Kent Police Service of any change in his address. Consequently, the man was found to be in violation of this condition.

Through investigation, the officer located the man living with a family member in Chatham.

A 21-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with failing to comply with an undertaking. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
