Assault with a knife
A Chatham man faces charges following an incident Thursday afternoon on Grand Avenue East in Chatham.
Chatham-Kent police got the call shortly afternoon, and through investigation learned the victim was walking near the east end of Stanley Street when a man approached him. The man was holding a knife in a threatening manner, police say. A verbal and physical altercation ensued, which resulted in bodily injury to the victim.
Police located the suspect a short time later, still in the area.
A 41-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with dangerous weapons and assault causing bodily harm.
Threats at a gas station
At 10:10 p.m. Thursday evening, police responded to Grand Avenue West in Chatham for a threat investigation.
Officers learned the victim was aggressively approached by a man in a vehicle at a Chatham gas station, police say. As the man exited the vehicle, he made an utterance to harm the victim. The victim did not know the man.
Through investigation, police learned the identity of the man and located him.
A 51-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with uttering threats.
