Chatham-Kent police are still trying to piece together all the details surrounding a weekend shooting in Chatham.
As previously reported, on April 30, police responded to a shooting incident at King Street West and Fifth Street in Chatham.
A 32-year-old Chatham man sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Police say he was taken to hospital and remains in the care of medical professionals.
Jared Atwell, 25, of Chatham, has been arrested and charged with attempted murder with a firearm. He appeared in bail court over the weekend and was remanded in custody for his next appearance on May 5.
Police say there is no concern for public safety, as the two men knew each other, and the incident is considered an isolated event.
The investigation continues and police ask anyone with video surveillance or who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
