Teen charged for dangerous driving, etc.
A March 25 joy ride apparently caught up with a Chatham teenager on Sunday.
Chatham-Kent police say officers located the youth on Fifth Street in Chatham. Police confirmed the youth was wanted for an incident on March 25 involving a motor vehicle collision.
A 17-year-old Chatham youth was charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, taking a motor vehicle without consent and driving without a license.
Arguing where he wasn’t wanted
A local man has to answer to charges after police say they found a man where he wasn’t supposed to be early this morning.
On May 1 at 12:29 a.m., police responded to Baird Avenue in Chatham for a family dispute.
Upon arrival, police located the man inside a family member’s residence.
Police confirmed the man entered a probation order in October 2022 with conditions not to communicate or be within 100 metres of this family member.
The man was arrested.
A 39-year-old Chatham-Kent man was transported to police headquarters and released on a future court date.
Skipped court date
A Sunday night stroll for a Chatham man led to an arrest.
Police say an officer observed the man on Lacroix Street in Chatham while on patrol just after 8 p.m. Sunday. The officer recognized the man from previous encounters.
The officer confirmed a warrant was outstanding for the man and arrested him.
A 33-year-old Chatham man was charged with failing to attend court. He was transported to police headquarters and … yes, released with a future court date.
