The Chatham Kent Community Foundation (CKCF) and the South Kent Wind Community Fund, a donor-advised fund of the CKCF, are taking applications for the 2023 spring round of grants.
Registered charities in Chatham-Kent may apply at www.chathamkentcommunityfoundation.ca by March 31.
There is more than $500,000 available to distribute in grants in 2023.
Chris Pegg, CKCF executive director, said, “We are proud to have granted over $574,000 to help support 45 charitable organizations in Chatham-Kent in 2022, and we are looking forward to continuing to support the community through grants in 2023.”
The South Kent Wind Community Fund is a donor-advised fund within the CKCF that was created by South Kent Wind LP, a wind power facility owned by Pattern Canada and Samsung Renewable Energy Inc., together with the Chatham Kent Community Foundation.
The Fund began with an initial donation of $1 million in the spring of 2013, and over its 20-year operational life, South Kent Wind LP will contribute another $10 million to the Fund.
