Assault suspect arrested
Back in December, Chatham-Kent police began an assault investigation involving a man.
Through investigation, police believe the man assaulted a woman several times, resulting in multiple severe bodily injuries. When the man could not be located, a warrant was sought for his arrest.
On Thursday morning, police received information on the man’s whereabouts and attended that address. Police located the man and arrested him.
A 32-year-old Chatham man was transported to police headquarters and charged with two counts of assault, two counts of assault causing bodily harm, and uttering threats to cause death. He was held pending a bail hearing.
Teen arrested for allegedly assaulting his mom
Police got the call about 6 p.m. Thursday of a report of a family dispute on Blythwood Crescent in Chatham.
Through investigation, police learned a youth and his mother verbally argued. The situation escalated when the youth assaulted his mother resulting in minor physical injuries, police say.
A 17-year-old Chatham youth was arrested and charged with assault. He was transported to police headquarters and released to a family member with conditions and a future court date.
Warrant arrest
An afternoon stroll for a Wallaceburg man ultimately resulted in him winding up in Lambton County under police oversight.
Police say that shortly before 4 p.m. Thursday, an officer on patrol spotted the man walking on Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg.
Police confirmed the man was wanted on eight outstanding warrants held by the Ontario Provincial Police and was arrested.
At 4:30 p.m., the 30-year-old Wallaceburg man was turned over to Lambton OPP.
Probation breach
Early this morning at 4:47 a.m., the Chatham-Kent police were advised the OPP had arrested a man for an outstanding warrant held by CKPS.
A 27-year-old Blenheim man was transported to CKPS headquarters and charged with breaching a probation order. He was released with conditions and a future court date.
