Chatham-Kent police have one man in custody and are seeking another in connection to a couple of break ins at area Tim Hortons recently.
On Monday, at approximately 10:50 p.m., two suspects forcefully entered the Tim Horton’s restaurant on Chatham Street South in Blenheim.
The suspects removed what police say is “a significant amount of Canadian currency from the store and left.
The suspects returned a few hours later and removed the surveillance equipment.
Less than three hours later, at approximately 1:39 a.m., two suspects forcefully entered the Tim Horton’s restaurant on Talbot Street West, also in Blenheim.
Again, the suspects removed what police said was a significant amount of Canadian currency from the store.
On Wednesday, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Intelligence Section executed a search warrant on King Street South in Highgate and arrested one suspect.
A 41-year-old Highgate man was arrested and charged with three counts of breaking and entering and three counts of possessing property obtained by crime.
He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
