Chase ends, man charged

A man was arrested Tuesday after a car chase.

According to Chatham-Kent police, the officers involved in the incident had attempted a traffic stop on Chatham Street in Blenheim shortly after noon. However, the vehicle did not stop. Officers tried to block the vehicle, police say, but the car reversed and almost hit a cruiser.

The vehicle drove off, but a short distance away the vehicle stopped and the driver attempted to flee the area. It did not work out, as officers were able to catch up to the man.

When officers arrested him, police say the man gave a false identity to them.

Police then learned that the man had a suspended license and was wanted on outstanding warrants held by other police services.

A 24-year-old Toronto man was charged with flight from police, dangerous driving, obstructing police, and operating a motor vehicle while prohibited.

Dispute turns spitty

At 3:52 p.m., police were called to Talbot Street West in Blenheim for a disturbance.

Apparently, a man and his landlord got into an argument. This argument led to things escalating where the man threatened to harm his landlord, and spat in his face.

A 48-year-old Blenheim man was arrested and charged with uttering threats and assault.

Through investigation, police learned that a man had struck his wife in the head. She did not receive any physical injuries.

A 70-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault.

Not wanted anymore
