After more than a year and countless hours of effort, the town of Wheatley is nearing normal after as explosion that rocked the downtown core in 2021.
Beginning Dec. 19, Erie Street North between Talbot Road and Elm Street, will re-open to vehicular traffic.
Closed since the Aug. 26, 2021 blast, the street was the last remaining road closure related to the incident.
Fencing has been erected along both sides of the side which will remain closed to large truck traffic. A pedestrian walkway has been created on the east side of the street.
