A host of Early Literacy programs are back at the Chatham-Kent Public Library.
And there’s a bonus for the youngest participants, as babies, from newborns to age 18 months, will receive a complimentary book from the Ahcom Shriners.
The Shriners’ mission to improve the lives of children and families dovetails with the free book initiative.
It’s well documented that reading to children from birth has many benefits. It increases bonding time, exposes baby to new words, helps baby recognize a variety of shapes, letters and colours, and helps them foster a lifelong love of reading.
In order to qualify for a book, participants must be registered. To find out what programs are available visit www.ckpl.ca and view the program calendar.
