B&E in Wallaceburg

Sometime between Thursday at 6 p.m. and Sunday at 11 p.m., someone forced their way into a shed on Forhan Street in Wallaceburg, causing about $50 damage.

Once inside, the suspect(s) stole various tools and fishing gear, valued at approximately $2,500.

Pizza B&E

Police are investigating a break and enter that occurred at Koka’s Pizza, located at 114 West St. in Chatham. Sometime overnight on Oct., someone cut the lock to a shed on the property and removed approximately $1,000 worth of cooking equipment.

Domestic theft, assault

On Saturday afternoon, police responded to a disturbance at a residence in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that the man forced his way into the woman’s apartment, assaulted her and fled with items from her home.

On Sunday afternoon, police located the man and he was arrested and charged with domestic related offences along with two counts of failing to comply with his release conditions as he was currently bound by conditions not to communicate with the woman or attend her residence.

A 35-year-old Chatham man has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Fire in Chatham

On Saturday afternoon, shortly after 12:30 p.m., Chatham-Kent responded to an address on Wellington Street in Chatham for a structure fire.

On arrival, Chatham-Kent Fire Department and Chatham-Kent Police located a rear deck of a residence that had caught fire.

The fire was extinguished and the cause of the fire is not believed to be suspicious.

Total damage was approximately $20,000 and there were no injuries as a result of the fire.

Bail violation

On Saturday last afternoon, police responded to an address on Joseph Street in Chatham regarding a disturbance.

Through investigation, Police learned that one of the involved individuals was violating his release conditions.

A 27-year-old Chatham man was subsequently arrested for violation of his release conditions and was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Warrant arrest

On Friday afternoon, an officer on general patrol located a female party who had an outstanding warrant for her arrest.

As a result, a 30-year-old Chatham woman was arrested for her outstanding warrant and later released with a future court date.
