The Municipality of Chatham-Kent has removed the “appointment-only” model in the Dresden and Chatham ServiceOntario offices for provincial services.
Throughout the pandemic, ServiceOntario in Chatham and Dresden adopted the appointment-only model as customers endured long wait times, due to the high demand of service requirements.
Municipal officials said they are still seeing fluctuations in patrons visiting municipal offices from other areas. Several operational changes have been made in an effort to address the business surges.
In addition to accepting walk-ins, municipal staff will continue to offer appointments for customer convenience. You can book appointments by calling 311 (locally) or 519-360-1998 or by e-mailing CK311@chatham-kent.ca
ServiceOntario customers are encouraged to visit the ServiceOntario website www.serviceontario.ca for up-to-date office hours.
Of note, appointments are still not required for any municipal services offered at the Dresden ServiceOntario office.
