High school B&E

A local high school was hit by a burglar in the night earlier this week.

Thieves who pried open a window at Wallaceburg District Secondary School made off with $3,000 worth of tools and other items.

According to Chatham-Kent Police the theft occurred sometime between 4:30 p.m. Oct. 19 and 8:30 a.m. Oct. 20.

Warrant arrest

A 34-year-old Chatham man with an outstanding warrant was arrested by Chatham-Kent police on King Street in Chatham Thursday.

The man was spotted by uniformed officers on patrol who knew there was a warrant for his arrest.

However, another charge was tacked on as he was also charged with possession of a controlled substance as police discovered a small amount of drugs on his person.

Bail Violation

A 34-year-old man who was somewhere he wasn’t supposed to be was arrested in Wallaceburg Thursday evening.

Chatham-Kent police say officers were tipped off the suspect had visited an address where he was not supposed to attend, according to his current bail conditions.

Police arrested the man for breaching his release order.
