Man, woman charged with assault
A Sunday morning fracas in Wallaceburg led to assault charges against two people, according to Chatham-Kent police.
C-K police got the call about 11 a.m. of a disturbance in Wallaceburg. Once police de-escalated the two involved parties, investigation revealed that both had been assaulted, police say.
Both were arrested and charged with one count of assault. Further investigation revealed that the woman involved would also be charged with mischief and several bail violations.
Assault charge
An elderly Chatham man faces assault charges.
Police got the call Sunday evening to a Chatham home.
As a result of the investigation, a 75 year old man was charged with one count of assault.
Debit card stolen, used
A sunday morning gift to a local man was to wear a set of handcuffs.
Police arrested their suspect they say is connected to the fraudulent use of a women’s debit card.
On Sept. 16, a woman contacted police to report someone had rifled through her vehicle overnight, and that her debit card had been taken.
Police say the debit card was then used at a business in Chatham. Through investigation, police were able to identify the accused.
On Sunday morning, just after 8 a.m., police received a call of a suspicious person on St Clair Street. As a result, a male was located and arrested.
A Chatham man faces charges of fraud, use of a stolen credit card and possession of stolen property.
Warrant arrest
Police located a woman on King Street West in Chatham shortly after 2 p.m. Sunday.
A query of the female revealed that she had an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court on the charges of theft and possession of stolen property. The woman was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
