Assault, drug charges

On Wednesday night, Chatham-Kent police responded to a disturbance at a residence in Wallaceburg. Through investigation, police learned that during a verbal argument, a man assaulted and threatened his girlfriend.

Upon being searched incident to arrest, the man was also found to be in possession of suspected fentanyl.

A 34-year-old Walpole Island man is charged with assault, uttering threats and drug possession.

Stolen vehicle in Ridgetown

Sometime over the past couple weeks, someone stole a grey 2002 Chevy Silverado pick-up truck from a business on Golf Course Line. The truck was last seen with Ontario license plates 103 5VN.

Stolen vehicle in Wallaceburg

Sometime yesterday morning, between 7 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. someone entered a shop on Murray Street and stole a green 1980 El Camino, last seen with Ontario license plates 2H9 380; a yellow and purple chopper-style mini bike; and a 65-inch TV.

Total value of the theft has been estimated at $30,000.

B&E in Chatham

Sometime between Tuesday at 5 p.m. and Wednesday at 8:45 a.m. someone damaged a window to a business on King Street West in Chatham, causing about $500 damage.

While reaching inside the broken window, the suspect stole four purses valued at approximately $280.

Dillon Road B&E

Sometime Wednesday between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m., someone forced their way into a residence on Dillon Road.

Once inside, the suspect stole Canadian Tire money and personal documentation.
