Shortly after 1:30 a.m. Friday morning, Chatham-Kent police responded to an Ellen Street address in Blenheim for a domestic disturbance.
Through investigation, police learned a man was intoxicated and engaged in a verbal argument with a woman.
The argument escalated and became physical when the man grabbed the woman by the neck, police say. The woman was assaulted twice more as she attempted to call 911. The man was taken into custody.
A 34-year-old Blenheim man was arrested for three counts of assault.
