Hammer/hammered time?

A man faces multiple charges after Chatham-Kent police say someone was trying to hit people with a hammer on the weekend and tried to flee from police

A man was wielding a hammer in an attempt to bonk people on St. Clair Street, police say, and then fled in his vehicle, but was stopped by officers not far from the scene.

Police say the officers believed he had been drinking.

A man is charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and impaired driving.

Stolen drums 

Over the past week, someone got into a home on Victoria Street in Chatham and stole an EVI drum kit valued at $3,500.
