Firearm incident

A dispute between neighbours turned ugly when one man allegedly pulled a gun on the other.

Just before 10 a.m. Saturday, a male party attended his neighbour’s residence, believing his neighbour had property of his that had recently been reported stolen.

Upon confronting him regarding the property, the neighbour retrieved a firearm and threatened the male party, police say.

Chatham-Kent police established a perimeter around the residence, and shortly after a 51-year-old Chatham man was arrested without incident and held in custody pending a bail hearing, facing several firearms-related offences.

There are no other suspects or safety concerns to the public.
